The fact that you are able to speak your mind with such an open honesty (as you call yourself "the skepbitch") and compassion.... well all I can say is your made of awesome. Being honest and compassionate can come with a stigma (as in "you're just putting on a show to make yourself look better" or an arrogant stance on something) when in actuality all you are being is a true, sincere, sweet, genuine person. It is very difficult to discuss things of this nature and I have stopped being negative and pick my spots. I try to ask questions and make suggestions but not trash all of her beliefs. For example, the other day I asked her if she tells her pharmacist and doctor about any vitamins and herbs without specifically throwing science at her. I try to get her to reference legit sources for info and plant seeds of information and try to foster a sense of critical thinking. It'll probably never happen completely but it's the way I decided to approach it. I have a similar relationship with my Mom.
